As in Europe these watches are very expensive, I bought it via amazon to try, had it delivered to a friend where I picked it up. It was delivered in its original box, everything looking perfect. My wife was very happy with it and wears it at every special occasion. Movado watches have this effect: they look different from the others and have an stylish and classy look over them. Not really recommended for day to day use I would say for this model.

 Scratched all over in less than a year and bracelet broke within 3 yearsJul 14, 2009
I bought this at an another reputable seller for less than half the price offered here, something that is occurring within increasing frequency at Amazon. The watch itself scratches very easily, its elegance overrides that but still I don't expect to have a scuffed watch in under a year. Then the bracelet just broke in less than 3 years.
I don't mind too much as the price I paid was not as high as this.
For those who question -- this was a genuine Movado, it had the card, etc. Just the warranty would not be honored by Movado which explicitly excluded any scratches or any other signs of wear and tear and was only for a year so it would not have done any good and certainly wasn't worth $300 more in price.
If I could get it again for the price I paid, I would buy it (or switch to the Amorosa) except that I realize I really miss not having the date on the watch. So I am looking for another brand. Gucci, I read, scratches just as easily. SO I will probably have to go up in price to get both elegance and sturdiness. In the price range listed here on Amazon -- I would stay away from Movado.
