Not very durableJul 26, 2010 I bought this watch back in January based on company reputation and the look of the watch. Everything about it seemed perfect until it slipped off my wrist while taking it off in my bathroom and it fell face down on a tile floor. This watch is not as durable as it seems. The glass shattered and the repair cost with parts, labor and shipping was more than the price I paid for the watch. Sure the watch was brought back to original shape but you would think a company like Citizen would make a more durable watch. I've dropped many watches on the floor before and they were not shattered like this one did. Recently, it landed on the ground again, the fall was softened by a show but now the short hand is off its center. I'm very disappointed at how fragile this watch has turned out to be.
Nice, simple, and easy to read numbers but it's not a beaterJul 24, 2010 I actually purchased this watch after reading all the good reviews on Amazon and other sites.
Over all the watch is really nice, it has a simple face, big numbers, 200 meter water resistant, it's solar (no batteries to replace)and it has great lume. All in all, for the price, it is a very good watch.
But like all things in life, nothing is 100 % perfect and this watch is no exception :
1- The date window is rather small, but heck..I can live with that, just thought I should mention it since for some people this could be a problem.
2- Perhaps my biggest turn-off is the glass, I have worn the watch about 10 to 15 times since I received it and so far there are 2 dings on the outer edge of the glass (the biggest and ugliest one, happened this morning). I own about 14 or 15 watches, from Timex all the way up to Cartier, and in all my years I have never dinged the border of any of my watches. It seems that in this watch the glass rises above the outer ring, so there is no protection to the edge of the mineral glass. I mean I'm no watch expert or a design engineer so I can't say that this is a design flaw or anything similar, but this does pose a problem in the sense that you have to be careful not to wear the watch while doing certain chores.
All in all I can't consider this watch rugged enough to be used as a beater...yes, because of the class issue.
Now, if you are looking for a watch to wear on weekends or perhaps something informal and if you like the military look, then this is a very good watch, just be extra careful where you stick your watch hand and make sure you keep your wrist away from walls.
Do I regret buying it...heck no, I still like the watch, just need to be a bit more conscious of my wrist while wearing it.

Great watch, average date function, sucky bandApr 29, 2010 Watch - 5 stars. Really sharp looking in person. I love being able to see what time it is first thing in the a.m. and it keeps great time. Only thing is I'm now I catch myself holding my arm at wierd angles so it charges on available light or sunlight beams.
Date - 4 stars. Why make such big numbers/hands and then stick in such a painfully small date window? They should use the one from the BM8180-03E. If the date's important to you, get a different watch.
Band - 3 stars. Agree with many that it sux after wearing it for a couple weeks. Gromets on the strap (vice holes) mean fewer size options; I'm between sizes - either too tight or too loose. The big steel keeper (or whatever you call it) for the band is in the way. I already ordered a tropic-style italian rubber watch band to replace it, which - by the way - was also a hassle because the band width for this is 21mm wide. Most bands this style are 20mm or 22mm.
So, it gets 4 stars overall. Not in love, but best friends maybe. And if it makes Al Gore happy, I'm happy.

Style, Simplicity and FunctionMar 20, 2010 I do love this watch. It keeps excellent time and never needs to be wound since it's an Eco-Drive. (I've had another Eco-Drive Citizen for over 10 years and it hasn't stopped once and keeps good time.) Mostly, I love the look of this watch. It's simple and functional. Easy to read large numerals without looking like an old lady's watch. Very retro chic, I think, and better looking than anything Seiko has in their comparable Kinetic line. (I actually like the photoelectric Citizen over the motion movement of the Seiko since I can keep the watch charged when not wearing it by storing it somewhere in a lighted place. I've never owned one of the Seiko's though, so this is not a completely informed opinion.)The band is cool and comfortable, too, with hip oversize metal grommets around the holes. Two small issues: one is personal and the other is objective. First, this is a large faced watch and since I have small hands and wrists, it can feel a little big on me. For "normal" sized men, this won't be a problem. Second, the date window and numeral are a bit small and difficult to read for my old(er) eyes. Nevertheless, this is a very functional and stylish watch that does what a watch is supposed to do - it tells you what time it is. It's reasonably priced, too. I'd say if you like its looks, buy it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

BM6400-00EMar 13, 2010 When I got this watch it looked better than I expected. Large, easy to read numbers contrasted by the black background makes this watch one of the easiest to read. This watch has a very strong presence that will get attention and a lot of compliments.
This watch is definitely built to last you a long time. The fact that it is also Water Resistant up to 200M is a really big plus coupled with Eco-Drive, you'll have nothing to worry about except wear it and look good in the process! The date window is on the small side but it doesn't really bother me that much.
Overall, I'm glad I got this watch and I would definitely recommend it!
